What is LUDUS?
LUDUS is PASSAS's initiative to improve access to justice through play.
It brings together legal games that help you decide whether you need a lawyer, check what the law requires of you and learn how the law works. Every game is free and none of them asks you to register.
What is legal gamification?
Legal gamification uses game mechanics to explain the law and help people make legal decisions.
The Ludoteca Jurídica at the University of Almería, which grew out of a teaching innovation project in 2018, showed that law can be learnt through play in university classrooms. We know of no other law firm in Spain that has taken gamification to the public so that anyone can understand when going to court makes sense and when it does not.
Can a game replace a lawyer?
A game cannot study your particular case or represent you before anyone.
What it does is cite the law it relies on and tell you plainly when you do not need a lawyer. If your case does need one, the Virtual Consultation lasts 60 minutes, costs €90 including VAT and is deducted from the first invoice if we take on your matter.
Is anything I answer stored?
Nothing you select leaves your browser.
The games run every calculation on your device and send none of your answers to any server, so they disappear when you close the tab.
Who reviews the legal content?
The firm reviews it, applying the same law and the same criteria we use for our clients' matters.
That is why The Scales uses the actual thresholds we apply when deciding whether to take on a case.
How often are new games released?
We release new games as new laws come into force.
The AI Radar, for instance, follows the AI Act timetable, whose obligations phase in until August 2028.
